August 10, 2008- At 06:58 SHFD was dispatched to 423 Parkway (Umpy's Bar) for a reported structure fire. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) arrived on scene and advised county comm. center of a working structure fire. Chief Sattizahn also asked to have R.I.T. dispatched to the scene from Pottsville City. Crews did an excellent job in preventing the fire from jumping floors and limited the fire damage to the bar area, saving the 2nd and 3rd floor apartments. Crews knocked down the fire, hit the hot spots, and ventilated the entire building. Time out for the department was 4.5 hours.
