February 9, 2009- Just after 12 mindnight, all 3 Haven stations were sent to 217 W. Columbia Street, Schuylkill Haven Boro, for a reported chimney fire. As Duty Chief 720 (Peel) went responding he was advised that Sch. Haven PD was on scene and was reporting smoke coming from the eaves of the roof. Chief Peel arrived on scene and assumed command. Engine 737 was first to arrive (3 doors from their station) and found a faulty word burner in the basment, causing smoke throughout the house. Engine 732 was next in and established a water source, hitting the hydrant at West Columbia and St. Charles and laying into the awaiting 737. After crews did investigations with the TIC it was found that the fire had found a hole and traveled up the inside wall. Ladder 725 arrived on scene and were put to work right away, throwing ground ladders and assisting with interior ventilation. After a long hour, the fire was placed under control and all units were returned within 2.5 hours after dispatch. ***PICS WILL BE LOADED SOON***
