April 12, 2009- At 19:12 stations 1 & 4 were dispatched to assist Districts 56 and 47 (Orwigsburg and Landingville) on a possible house fire at 3 Berry Road, North Manheim Twp. Chief 47 (Hoffman) arrived on scene with smoke showing, but only from the chimmney. After an investigation it was determined that it was only a chimmney fire do to a mass blockage. Crews used the trusty “chimmney thumper” to get rid of the blockage while others checked the house for extension. Pottsville City R.I.T. was also sent to the scene and weren’t utilized. Time out for the SHFD was 1.5 hours.
