September 15, 2009- At 13:04 stations 1 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 811 Schuylkill Mountain Road, North Manheim Twp, for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. As Chief 722 (Sattizahn) arrived on scene, he advised County Comm Center and all incoming units of a single car accident with the vehicle into a tree and now confirming entrapment. As Engine 737 and Rescue 727 arrived on scene, they went to work with vehicle stabilization and prepared to cut the roof and doors off a Jeep Wrangler. This task was a little tricky do to there being trees and bushes surrounding the car.In the meantime, Chief Sattizahn had asked to have station 2 dispatched for a landing zone right next to the crash site as well as having District 34 station 1 (Friedensburg) dispatched to the scene for additional manpower. Crews had the patient extricated from the vehicle in just over a half hour and immediately transported the patiend to the awaiting Medevac 7.
