July 16, 2011 – At 00:40 the SHFD was dispatched to the area of 2012 Long Run Road for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Crews arrived on scene and were met with a single car which had sheared off a utility pole and struck a tree. Station 4 used an extinguisher to extinguish a small fire caused by the falling wires and transformer and Stations 1 and 2 assisted EMS with patient removal from the vehicle. All SHFD units remained on scene until the tow company arrived. Chief 730 (Reed) had command. Photos over at Schuylkillhose.com.
