January 4, 2010- RIT assignment to Pottsville on working commerical fire

January 4, 2010- At 00:23hrs the S.H.F.D. rapid intervention team was dispatched to 411 South Claude A Lord Blvd. in Pottsville to assist at a working commercial fire.  As Engine 733 and Squad 739 were en-route, they were advised of a working structure fire in a car wash. Once units arrived on scene, E-733 was placed in service to serve as the southern most attack engine and S-739 was the R.I.T. team until Englewood ‘s R.I.T. team arrived on scene. E-733 was fed by a 5″ relay coming from Palo Alto and was supplying E-41 from the city and had one 2-1/2″ and one 1-3/4″ attack line in service. Units from both stations then assisted with fire attack and overhaul. The R.I.T. team staged on Route 61 and was on scene for approximately 3 hours.  *Story by Schuylkill Hose*
