April 3, 2010 – At 17:14 the S.H.F.D. was dispatched to the area of Berne Drive and Deiberts Valley Road for a motor vehicle accident with no injuries and fluids down. As units began responding Chief 724 (Moran) was advised of a two vehicle accident with possible entrapment. As apparatus arrived on scene they found two vehicles with one of them being rolled over on its side and 1 person confined. Crews immediately stabilized the vehicle and began to extricate the patient by removing the windshield. EMS and Firefighters assisted with patient care and remained on scene for approximately 1 hour until the tow company arrived. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.
