September 5, 2010 – At 11:12 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 122 E. Union Street for smoke in a house. Chief 720 (Peel) arrived on scene and confirmed smoke coming from the residence. Crews arrived on scene and gained forced entry to the structure and began searching for the source of the smoke. It was soon determined that a metal garbage can located in the basement contained smoldering trash. Fire Personnel also used TIC (Thermal Imagery Cameras) cameras to aid in the search. PPV fans were then used to clear the smoke from the building and all Schuylkill Haven units were placed available by Chief 720.
