Just after 07:30hrs, the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department along with Pottsville Ladder 68-25 were dispatched to the former Days Inn Hotel on a reported Commercial Fire. As units became en-route SCCC advised that State Police reported smoke coming from division 3 of an abandoned structure. All units arrived around the same time and 1 line was pulled from 63-14. Crews found a small homemade “stove” with the “chimney pipe” going through a hole in the wall. Crews used a water can to extinguish the small fire and were cleared shortly after.
