September 1, 2009- This morning at 07:33 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 131 West Main Street, Schuylkill Haven Boro, (Boyer’s IGA) for a possible Commercial Structure Fire. Duty Chief 723 (Donatti) went responding and was advised of a possible oven fire in the building. He arrived on scene to find a smoke condition in the building from a burned up rotisserie chicken cooker. Units arrived on scene to assist with removing the cooker from the deli department of the store, used thermal imaging cameras to check for extension, and set up positive pressure ventilation fans to remove the smoke from the store. Everyone remained on scene until just after 08:00.
